Life sure knows how to surprise us, right when we think we have everything sorted out. Just when I was gearing up for my projects, I faced unexpected challenges with my car and a health diagnosis that turned my world upside down. But through it all, I'm looking forward to an exciting group photoshoot, and I can't wait to share this journey with you!
The Struggles of Car Troubles
It all began when my car decided it was done starting. After towing it home, I arranged for a mechanic to look at it the next week, when I would have the money for a diagnosis fee. After I had it towed to the mechanic, I received some tough news: I needed a new engine, along with brakes and rotors—totaling nearly $10,000 in repairs.

Being without my car meant I couldn't get around easily. For anyone who relies on a vehicle for daily life, even a short distance to the grocery store or art events can become a challenge. As a vendor, photographer, and mother, I missed out on markets and creative gatherings that keep me in touch with my community. I had to reschedule appointments for my kids. Instead of mingling with fellow artists, I felt isolated within my four walls.
The Impact on My Daily Life
With my car in the shop, my daily life took a drastic turn. Running simple errands turned into a complex puzzle of bumming rides from friends and using ridesharing apps. Creative events I typically attended felt light-years away, and my connections to models, photographers, and crochet enthusiasts felt strained.
To add to the stress, I was also grappling with the challenges of orthostatic hypotension. This health condition affects blood circulation, causing dizziness, nausea, and fainting when I stand up or am standing for too long. This was a result of damage to my veins and arteries from a past car accident. The struggle of managing this condition on top of my vehicle troubles made every day feel like an uphill battle.
Health Challenges and the Road Ahead
Receiving the diagnosis of orthostatic hypotension truly shocked me. Unlike other conditions, there’s no surgical solution; my only option is to manage my symptoms with lifestyle changes and self-care. Some days, I feel energetic enough to tackle projects, while others are a test of endurance. I now prioritize pacing myself carefully, ensuring that I conserve energy for days when I need to be out and about.
Although juggling health issues and car troubles felt overwhelming, these challenges taught me valuable lessons in perseverance and adaptability. Every bump in the road brings opportunities to reflect and grow.
A Bright Spot: Reflections in Frame Photoshoot
Amid the chaos, I'm thrilled to be part of an upcoming photoshoot called "Reflections in Frame," set for July 26th from 5-8:30 PM at Pole Garden in Monroe, WA. This event fills me with excitement and creative energy, which I desperately need right now.
During the photoshoot, I will share my collection of stunning shawls. Each shawl is not just fabric; it represents a piece of my art.

Collaboration and Community
What makes this event extra special is collaborating with other talented creators. Indulgence Intimate Portraiture will showcase their beautiful collection of body jewelry, adding elegance and charm to our session. Captured Chimerism will host the event, creating a welcoming atmosphere complete with refreshing drinks and a spread of fresh fruits and vegetables for everyone involved.
This spirit of teamwork amplifies the essence of creativity; it’s a reminder that even amidst personal challenges, there are beautiful moments waiting for us.
A Hub for Creativity
The photoshoot will also showcase decorated frames and mirrors as props. These will not only enhance the visual appeal of our photos but also capture lasting memories.
As a model and crochet enthusiast, I’m particularly excited about the chance to connect with fellow creatives. Interacting with other models and photographers gives me a spark of hope, illustrating the importance of community support during tough times.
Finding Joy in the Chaos
Car problems and health issues can slow us down, but they don’t have to halt our passion. Life’s challenges often remind us of our true interests and guide us to new means of expression.
I warmly invite you to join me at the "Reflections in Frame" photoshoot. Let’s celebrate creativity, collaboration, and resilience together. As each shawl finds its place in the frame and each photo captures our collective journey, I’m certain this event will shine as a summer highlight.
As I embrace my passion amidst these challenges, I am grateful for every moment, excited to see where this journey leads me next!
Embracing Change
Life is full of unexpected twists and turns. Embracing change is essential for growth. Each challenge we face is an opportunity to learn and adapt.
The Importance of Support
During tough times, support from friends and community becomes invaluable. It reminds us that we are not alone in our struggles. Sharing experiences can lighten the burden and foster connections that enrich our lives.
Looking Ahead
As I look forward to the photoshoot, I am reminded of the resilience within us all. We can rise above our challenges and find joy in our passions.
Conclusion
In conclusion, life may throw us curveballs, but it also offers moments of beauty and connection. Join me at the "Reflections in Frame" photoshoot to celebrate creativity and community. Together, we can navigate life's challenges and emerge stronger.
Let's make memories that will last a lifetime!
